There are numerous causes for the formation of ascites. Clinically, the most common types are transudative ascites and exudative ascites.
Generally, most cases of transudative ascites are due to impaired albumin synthesis caused by liver cirrhosis. This leads to a decrease in colloid osmotic pressure, resulting in the leakage of interstitial fluid into the abdominal cavity, thus forming ascites.

Of course, if it is caused by exudative factors, it is mostly seen in tuberculous peritonitis or severe infections, which can cause infectious ascites.
If similar situations occur, I suggest seeking medical attention promptly to establish a definite diagnosis and guide subsequent treatment.
