Venlafaxine Hydrochloride Tablets are an atypical antidepressant containing venlafaxine hydrochloride. They are indicated for various types of depression, including depression with anxiety, and generalized anxiety disorder. The tablets are taken orally, either with food or as directed by a healthcare provider. Common side effects include decreased appetite, constipation, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, dry mouth, sweating, weakness, fatigue, high blood pressure, and restlessness. If venlafaxine is abruptly discontinued, the dosage is reduced, or it is gradually tapered off, the following symptoms may occur: hypomania, anxiety, confusion, insomnia, paresthesia, lightheadedness, seizures, and tinnitus. Most patients experience mild withdrawal symptoms that resolve without treatment.
